Marc Fogassa - Secretary

Marc Fogassa is the founder and managing partner of Hedgefort Captial Management, a registered investment adviser with offices in the U.S. and Brazil. Hedgefort's edge is both in its deep knowledge and fundamental understanding of companies in one market - Brazil - as well as proprietary quantitative hedging. It has products in both global asset allocation and Brazil strategies.

Born and raised in Brazil, Marc Fogassa was educated in the U.S. (M.I.T., Harvard) and has over 22 years of investment experience. He has worked both as a portfolio manager of publicly-traded assets but also as an institutional private equity and venture capital investor and Board member to multiple private companies, some of which are now publicly-traded. Marc graduated valedictorian among 600 students of his Portuguese-speaking São Paulo high school and was accepted to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T.), where he double-majored; as a senior in college, he co-founded his initial investment partnership with institutional account privileges. For graduate school, Marc received a Doctor of Medicine degree from Harvard Medical School, and subsequently worked at Goldman Sachs & Co.

Marc received his MBA with Honors from Harvard Business School (HBS). During his time at HBS, he was elected co-President of the 350-member Venture Capital and Private Equity Club and a Vice-President of the Investment Club. Marc Fogassa holds the NASD Series 65 license and also the Brazilian license as Administrador de Carteiras de Valores Mobiliários issued by the Brazilian regulator, Comissão de Valores Mobiliários.
